Toyota has given an initial preview of its revised hypercar for the 2026 FIA World Endurance Championship<\/strong> season. The vehicle presents itself with significantly enhanced aerodynamics, a striking new look and an adapted name structure within the works team. <\/p>\n\n

The focus of the technical revision is on aerodynamics. In particular, the redesigned front section with modernized light units gives the prototype a contemporary appearance. There is also a striking innovation at the rear: the rear wing is no longer completely straight, but has a characteristic curve. The changes are related to the regular re-evaluation of all hypercar models in the WEC wind tunnel procedure. <\/p>\n\n

Another highlight is the new color concept. In future, Toyota will use red as the dominant base color. In doing so, the manufacturer is deliberately tying in with its own motorsport history and recalling the legendary Toyota TS020<\/strong>, which was used in the 24 Hours of Le Mans<\/strong> at the end of the 1990s. Toyota had already hinted at this historic connection in 2025 with a special livery. <\/p>\n\n

In parallel with the visual and technical development, the vehicle will be renamed. The model previously known as the GR010 Hybrid<\/strong> will be launched as the TR010 Hybrid<\/strong> from 2026. <\/p>\n\n

There are also changes at the organizational level: The European motorsport headquarters based in Cologne-Marsdorf will operate under the name Toyota Racing GmbH<\/strong> in future. Accordingly, Toyota will officially compete in the WEC under the team name Toyota Racing<\/em> from the 2026 season. <\/p>\n\n

With the new hypercar, the revised brand identity and the clear commitment to endurance racing, Toyota is underlining its ambition to continue to play a leading role in the hypercar class of the WEC in the coming years.<\/p>\n\n
