Planned deployment with a special Porsche project

IronForce Racing has announced its participation in this year’s 24-hour race at the Nürburgring with an unusual vehicle concept. An independently built, near-series Porsche 911 GT3 RS MR will be used, which will be specially prepared for the endurance classic.

Drivers Jan-Erik Slooten and Timo Scheider recently presented the project in a video format and gave an initial insight into the current status of the plans. The class in which the vehicle will ultimately compete is still open. What is certain, however, is that an originally planned field of application is out of the question due to the regulations.

According to Slooten, the response from relevant institutions has been positive so far. Talks with the ADAC have apparently also been constructive, although the team had expected stronger resistance in advance.

The racing team has not yet been officially confirmed. However, Scheider has indicated that experienced support with a background in professional motorsport – including expertise from Formula 1 – is involved in the project. At the same time, the team emphasizes that, in addition to sporting ambitions, it is also keeping an eye on the economic side.

Technical details of the final vehicle concept have not yet been published in full. However, it is clear that the vehicle will differ from classic GT3 cars in several respects – including weight and tires. The standard DRS system of the 911 GT3 RS MR is also the subject of ongoing coordination with the organizers. A particular challenge is to balance the performance of the car within the framework of the regulations.

In sporting terms, IronForce Racing is not aiming for overall victory. Instead, the focus is on a special goal: crossing the finish line with a road-legal vehicle including a license plate. Nevertheless, the project should also be implemented competitively on the track.

The team is also planning to implement the application in a sustainable manner. Specific details will be published at a later date.
